Nana Maeno is a Japanese AV actress, boxer, and pro wrestler. She is currently affiliated with the BATTLE organization as part of the BWP roster. Maeno is the reigning BWP Champion and BATTLE Queen Boxing Champion in separate divisions and her first reign for both belts.
Character Bio[]
Billed from: Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
Alignment: Babyface
Maeno was destined for success ever since her June 2021 debut in the underground women's wrestling/boxing scene. Similar to how FGI chose Nozomi Arimura as their next ace, BWP bestowed the Kyoto native as their "supernova" following the sudden retirement of Arisa Kawasaki (until her 2023 comeback). From there and onwards, Maeno is firmly positioned as the top star for BWP following in the footsteps of the group's biggest draw, YUE.
BATTLE (2021-)[]
The Birth of a New Generation[]
Maeno made her in-ring debut against Arimura in a series of matches. The chemistry between both competitors highlights a promising rivalry for the next generation of BATTLE similar to YUE and Ako Momona.
THE RIVAL Special[]
Another rivalry from FGI took place in December 2021 when Maeno took on Mitsuki Nagisa titled "THE RIVAL". Despite Maeno getting the decisive win, the heat between the two is far from over.
BWP Tournament & Champion[]
The biggest moment for Maeno is participating in the 2021 BWP Tournament which is made up of newcomers and established names. She defeated Ai Kawana and Hikaru Minazuki to earn a spot in the finals. Originally, the finals were set to be Maeno against Tsukasa Nagano until Azusa Misaki came out to challenge for the vacant BWP crown. Despite the lineup change, Maeno defeated Misaki and scored the biggest win of her career. Post-match, Maeno was attacked by the opportunistic RA leader. Maeno fought back until Seria Manatsuki came to assist Misaki and both were beating down the new champ.
BWP Live[]
In December 2021, Maeno made her first live event appearance picking up a win over Aina Nagase at BWP 09: CLIMAX. For the first half of 2022, Maeno competed in a non-title bout against Natsuki Kisaragi and a live boxing match at BWP Boxing 05 against archrival Arimura. In June 2022, Maeno teamed with Nagase in a losing effort against Akari Niimura and a returning Ako Momona at BWP NEXT 08.
BATTLE Champions Tournament[]
In the quarterfinals of the Battle Champions Tournament as part of A-block, Maeno defeated Arimura and advanced to the semifinals.
Xtreme Trial[]
Following the vacancy of the Xtreme Championship, Maeno took on fellow BWP member Yue Toa who was offered a deal from the former champion Azusa Misaki. In doing so, Toa turned heel in the process and got the upset win to become the new champion.
Turncoat & Open Challenge[]
Maeno defeated Mirai Natsume at Fighting Girls International 02. Following the main event's conclusion, Tsukasa Nagano defected from BWP to join the Allied Forces and made an open challenge to Maeno for the BWP Championship.
BWP Title Match & RIVAL Revenge[]
In the main event of BWP NEXT 09, Maeno defended her title against Nagano, who now represents the SSS. In the end, Maeno successfully retains the championship. Post-match, Mitsuki Nagisa made an unannounced appearance to challenge the BWP ace in a rematch at BWP 10: Heroines Assemble where Maeno was defeated.
BATTLE Champions Semifinal[]
Maeno took on SSS Champion Akari Niimura in the A-block semifinal. Despite Niimura's well-known dirty tactics, Maeno defeated the SSS Champion and earned a spot in the finals.
MEGA FIGHT[]
Before entering 2023, Maeno had a special match against the legendary Hitomi Aragaki in a spectacular performance despite being a non-title bout.
Tag Team Bouts[]
Maeno had two tag matches in early 2023. She teamed with fellow BWP member Kaho Kashii to get the win over the rookie team of Rika Hibiki and Nagi Mamiya. She would also have a single match with Kashii shortly afterward. Then in February, she teamed with arch-rival Mitsuki Nagisa against the heel team of Reira Fuji and Runa Shimotsuki and won the match as well.
Historic Milestone[]
Maeno defeated Akari Niimura in the main event of BWP Boxing 07 and captured the vacant BATTLE Queen Boxing Championship. Maeno is not only recognized as the 5th Double Crown Champion but also the first performer to hold wrestling and boxing titles at the same time.
Past vs Present Rematch[]
Despite her win over Aragaki in December 2022, Maeno is scheduled to face the living legend once again in the main event of BWP NEXT 10 only this time to avenge YUE's loss from BWP 10.
BATTLE Champions Final[]
After a long delay, Maeno took on YUE in a showcase of the current ace versus the original ace. The two competitors held nothing back despite their alliance with BWP. In the end, Maeno defeated her senpai and was awarded a trophy as the strongest champion of BATTLE.
Recruiting a New Player[]
Despite YUE still being the head figure of BWP, Maeno has established herself as a locker room leader for the rest of the BWP roster. Her status as champion leads to her recruiting Akari Nonoka and convincing her to leave FGI for BWP following their one-on-one match.
BWP Title Match[]
In her second title defense, Maeno is tasked to defend the BWP Championship against fellow BWP member Sakura Tsuji. An unlikely challenger but Maeno has a positive outlook for Tsuji as another key player against the Allied Forces.
Rematch & More Rematches[]
The rivalry between Maneo and Akari Niimura is far from over. The two clashed once again in boxing with Maeno beating Niimura twice and in the semi-finals of the BATTLE Champions Tournament. Niimura, however, does a have win over Maeno dating back to BWP NEXT 08. The two champions prepare for another collision taking place at Fighting Girls International 03 which ends with Maeno picking up the win despite the interference of Nagano and being rescued by a debuting DAMO.
Other Media[]
Before becoming a champion in wrestling and boxing, Maeno made her name known as an AV actress in 2020. As announced on her X (Twitter) account, Maeno stated that she will be retiring on March 24, 2025. Meaning 2024 will be her final year as an AV actress though her wrestling/boxing career can be extended if she wishes before she departs officially.
