Battle World Pro-Wrestling 01 was a live event presented by the BWP on December 17, 2016. It is the first installment under the BWP name following the retirement of the Fighting Girls live event series back in April 2016.
The opening match sees Kana Tsuruta defeating Natsuki Yokoyama. The second and third matches feature BWP exhibition bouts as Aine Kagura defeated Arisu Mizushima and Sena Minami defeated Ichigo Suzuya.
The semi-main is the final match for Mao Kaneshiro who was originally scheduled to face Madoka Hitomi but was unable to compete due to illness. Instead, she wrestles the Masked Man as a last-minute replacement. Despite the line-up change, Kaneshiro won her match without issue.
The main event is a non-title match between two of BWP's top stars Sesera Harukawa and Fighting Girls Champion YUE. In the end, Harukawa came out victorious to close out the show.
Haruna Ikoma was appointed special guest referee for the event and thus became the first female referee to do so.
